Ben Brooks, Jr. (Managing Member)
Benjamin Brooks, Jr. (aka Ben), a proud graduate of Mount Saint Joseph High School, grew up in the Baltimore suburb of Woodlawn. He received his undergraduate degrees in finance and Spanish from Towson University in Baltimore County, MD. He earned his Master’s degree in accounting from the Kogod School of Business at American University, Washington, DC. Ben started working for the family business in 1998 and ultimately took over the business from his father in 2017.
Ben currently resides in Columbia, MD, with his wife and two daughters and enjoys language study, martial arts and time with the family when he is not studying for the CPA exam.
Benjamin Brooks, Sr. (Founder)
Delegate Benjamin T. Brooks, Sr., (aka Mr. B. aka Dad) is a native of Sumter, South Carolina. After completing a tour in Vietnam, he graduated with is B.S. in Accounting from South Carolina State University.
He is currently a member of the House of Delegates of Maryland, serving the 10th Legislative District for Baltimore County. Along with being Chief Deputy Majority Whip, he is a Member of the House Economic Matters Committee, Chairman of the Public Utilities subcommittee and also serves on the Alcoholic Beverage subcommittee.
Ben Sr. currently resides in Woodstock, MD with his wife of over 45 years.
Theresa Brooks
Theresa Howard Brooks (aka Rese aka Mom) grew up in Summerville, SC, and graduated with her B.S. and M.S. degrees from South Carolina State University. She is a life-long educator who has worked in both the public and private schools throughout her career. She began as a kindergarten teacher in South Carolina, taught in Indiana and retired as a principal in a Catholic School in the Archdiocese of Baltimore. Theresa also partnered with her husband in the early days of B&R Brooks Professional Tax Service. Theresa’s career has come full circle in that she currently spends her retirement helping out her son with the family business she helped her husband with many years ago.
She enjoys and delights in all six of her grandchildren and is a passionate reader who believes that we can all gain great knowledge and experience life with a good book.
Lindsey Brooks Toth
Lindsey Brooks Toth was born and raised in Baltimore, MD, and received her Bachelor’s degree from Towson University. She went on to complete her Master’s in Latin American Studies at American University in Washington, D.C. Throughout her studies, she valued interacting with people from different backgrounds and experiences. In 2011, she had the good fortune of continuing down this path by joining the family business full time. Bringing her own unique experience in ecommerce and foreign language skills added a new dimension to the family practice. She looks forward to providing a positive and memorable customer experience for all clients.
Lindsey continues servicing her clients remotely, as she currently lives in Las Vegas, NV, with her husband and three young children.
